Les Vesluères is a former “fermette” on acres of land in a rural setting, including a small pond. The beautiful stone-built farmhouse has large oak beams, spacious well-proportioned rooms and all modern amenities required for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The house and the outbuildings form a south-facing horseshoe shape, in the middle of which is the fabulous pool. Beyond the pool is a large lawned area, suitable for games and relaxing, and beyond that are the views across the rolling hills to the south. To either side of the property are our fields, which the neighbouring farmers use for harvesting hay for their animals.
There is a wealth of wildlife to be seen in and around Les Vesluères, including frogs, toads, coypu, hawks, swifts, lizards, butterflies, deer and many more. The property is surrounded on all sides by farms who specialise in beef and poultry, and grow crops mainly to feed their own animals. Many farms locally sell produce direct to the public – look for the Boeuf du Maine and the Fermiers de Loué signs.
There are a range of outbuildings which add character to the property. The garage barn is an open-ended barn in which a car can be parked under cover. Other outbuildings are not to be used.
One of the highlights of Les Ves is the fantastic in-ground pool, and surrounding terrace. The pool is 11.5 metres long, by 5.5 metres wide with ‘Roman steps’ at one end. It is 1.2 metres deep apart from a deeper point (at the opposite end from the steps) that is 1.8m. It is protected and heated by an “abri” – that is a robust, sliding roof – which makes the pool usable from April to October. You can swim under the abri, or slide it back so that the majority of the pool is open in good weather.
There is a large surrounding terrace and sun-loungers are also provided.
